Julie has long, brown hair and deep blue eyes, as well as freckles. Max's first thought of her was 'the most beautiful face he had ever seen'.
She likes photography and does not mind snapping pictures of unknowing candidates. She is still very friendly and sweet.
She lived in Melbourne, Australia, with her parents and little brother. She had been in Chicago, Illinois, once before with her family, as she told Max.

She and Max met during The Hound of Rowan, when she took a funny picture of him running away from Helga and Frigga, the selkies. She seems very fond of him. Max and Julie share their first kiss in 'The Hound of Rowan', during the song of Kettlemouth , Lucia's charge. In The Second Siege, Julie draws apart from Max, as advised by Mr. Sikes . In return, Max asks Mr. Sikes to make him forget her comletely, but they end up together in The Fiend and the Forge. They later break up, when Julie's parents tell Max it would be best if he left her alone. In the The Maelstrom, she ends up marrying Thomas Polk.
